How Ship or Die collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Who we are
JustShipIt Pte. Ltd. ("we," "us," "our") operates Ship or Die. We are the data controller for personal information processed through the Service.

2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information generated when you use the Service.
Account information: email address, pirate name, bio, Twitter handle, profile slug, and settings such as reminder preferences.
Mission information: project name, domain, icons, mission status, deadlines, submissions, and milestone data.
Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive payment status, customer identifiers, and billing metadata. We do not store full card numbers.
Community information: if you connect Discord, we store your Discord user ID and username to manage crew access and roles.
Avatar information: if you upload a photo, we store the original image and generated avatar images on AWS S3.
Usage information: we use DataFast analytics on public pages to understand traffic and usage patterns.
Authentication data: login codes, session data, and security logs needed to operate your account.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Process payments and manage membership access
- Track missions, deadlines, and launch submissions
- Send transactional and mission-related emails through Resend
- Generate pirate avatars through OpenAI
- Manage Discord community access
- Display public profiles and crew pages
- Prevent abuse, enforce our terms, and keep the Service secure
- Improve the product and understand how it is used
4. Public profiles
If you claim a public profile, information such as your pirate name, bio, avatar, shipped startups, and current mission details may be visible at a URL like /u/your-slug.
You can control some visibility settings inside the Service, such as whether your current mission details are shown publicly. Information you choose to make public may be indexed by search engines.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with service providers that help us run the Service, including:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — email delivery
- Discord — community access management
- OpenAI — avatar generation
- AWS S3 — image storage
- DataFast — website analytics
- Hosting, database, and infrastructure providers
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
6. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain records longer where required for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You can update much of your profile information from your dashboard. You may also email us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational requirements.

9. International transfers
We are based in Singapore, but some service providers may process data in other countries. When information is transferred internationally, we take steps designed to protect it in line with applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
